What happens when...
You're already not in the best mood. You're getting your dinner together for work. You make your salad. And a sandwich (just in case) because you haven't had lunch. So you finish the sandwich, cut up celery and carrots to have a little side of vegetables with your chicken salad sandwich, package it all nicely in one of those sandwich containers with room for a side. Then you reach in the fridge to get the leftovers of your favorite pasta dish (spaghetti a la greek) from Saturday night when your dad was in town and you went out for dinner.
Only in the spot where your pasta container was, there's now a case of Black & Tan. You look all over the fridge. No white syrofoam container. You call your husband, who until this moment was your favorite person in the world. "Oh was that your pasta?," He asks you. "I thought that was something else. I cleaned out the fridge last night. I threw that container out." You say, "Didn't you LOOK at it?!" He says no. And while in your head you're cussing him and perhaps throwing a little temper tantrum, you see that he threw out the pasta, but he left the little container of pasta sauce that goes with it. (You always order the sauce on the side. Too much sauce covers up all that tasty garlic.) Apparently he didn't look at that either.
So now what do you do? Perhaps your Just In Case Sandwich just became the main course. And you were planning to make your own salad dressing just after you packed up your favorite (did I mention that it's YOUR FAVORITE?) pasta dish for dinner. But now your heart just isn't in it.
Tears.
