The Best Cookies Ever!
I made a batch of chocolate chip cookies the other day and they were SO awesome. Almost the best cookies I've ever made. I really think the secret is the Airbake cookie sheet. No greasing or spraying it. Just PHLEMP plop down the cookie dough with the Pampered Chef medium scoop and bake. Here's the recipe in case your so inclined. If you don't have an Airbake pan, bake for 8 minutes on the middle rack. Of course, ovens vary. But in general, this is very good advice. And no, they're no healthy at all. And I won't be making them again for a very long time. But hey. If you're gonna make cookies, you might as well make cookies.
1/2 c. butter-flavored Crisco
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
3/4 ts. vanilla
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 ts. salt
1/2 ts. baking soda
1 c. mini semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375. Spray or grease cookie sheets (unless you have an Airbake or similar sheet).
1. Using an electric beater or a big spoon, cream the butter in a mixing bowl until smooth. Add the sugars and continue to beat until creamy and light. Crack the egg into the bowl, add the vanilla and mix again till smooth. You can also do this by hand with a wooden spoon.
2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Stir with a fork. Add to the butter-sugar mixture and blend till smooth.
3. Pour the chocolate chips into the bowl and stir well until evenly distributed. Do not use an electric mixer for this step.
4. Place rounded teaspoons of dough about 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet. Bake (one sheet at a time) for 8 minutes. If the cookies are slightly brown around the edges, remove them from the oven. If not, bake for another minute and recheck them.
5. After removing the cookies from the oven, let them cool a few minutes. Then remove them to a plate or to cooling racks. Enjoy!
