Today, I tried to sign Abigail up for pre-school because she and her brother and parents are out of town attending a funeral. I got to the church and found a sign on the door that said it started at 8:30 a.m. and it was in the library and that some door near a playground was open. OK. So I started walking to find this playground and I saw... nothing. So I got back in my car and drove around the building. Finally. The playground. I start trying doors. Locked. Door bells. Nothing. No one comes to the door. So I drove back around to the front of the church and went in the front door. Finally, I found someone -- who didn't seem to know anything about the pre-school registration. I was pretty agitated, but I couldn't even yell at anyone. Come on! I was in a CHURCH!
When I asked where the library was and then explained why I was looking for it, the woman said, "Oh, are they holding that in there today?" IT'S ON THE DOOR LADY! And the whole time I'm thinking, Please GOD let me get this child signed up for her pre-school program. If I don't, her parents will KILL me. It was about 1 p.m. when I got there and 1. I had no idea that it started at 8:30 and 2. the sign didn't give any end time. The woman I talked to said the people aren't even there very long in the morning. So I guess registration was from 8:30 to 9? I had to leave the information with this office woman and hope that Abigail gets in. I'll call in the morning.
Dear God,
Please give Abigail a spot in the church pre-school so she will be able to learn and interact with children her own age. Oh yes, and so her parents will not hate me.
Amen!
