Double takes We bought a 4-pack of Stewart's diet orange soda the other day. I took one to work. A day later, I started to pull another from the box. But wait. There were still four in the box. And I knew I took one to work. Or I thought I did. Not wanting to confuse myself, I just took one and went on my way. And later in the day I took another. There were two left. Today before work, I peered into the fridge. There were THREE in the box. NOW HOLD ON ONE MINUTE. I went into our office, where David was sitting at the computer. "WHAT is going on with the orange soda?!" And I tell him about the magically replenishing sodas. He laughs. And laughs. The he says, "There were two left in the fridge when we bought the 4-pack. So when you took them, I put the loose ones in the box." Dammit. There for a day or so, he had me thinking I was going insane.
