Happy birthday to me! I'm officially an adult. Of course, I've been an adult for quite a long time now, but this one... this one feels a little different. OK, not really. I'm still the same me. But now I'm all of 30 years old. Wow. That's weird to see. I'm 30. There. I said it again.
Tonight, David and I looked at what we thought was going to be our dream house. (We just drove by it on our way home one day. Poor saps.) Alas, it was not meant to be. It was great while it lasted, house that looks great from the street. The hardwood floors were beautiful, the place was HUGE -- 3,500 s.f. But do we need that much space? Not really. But here's what we thought: It had room for David to have a studio and a pool table, it had a sun room (where the pool table would go), a screened-in porch (for the kitties), a master bedroom with lots of windows, a garage for the Cooper. And we figured that if that's the house we really want, it (and others like it) are only getting more expensive so we might as well at least look at it.
Well. Problem solved. We looked the gift horse in the mouth and it said BAH HAHA. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice house. But for that kind of jack (around here), I don't think I should be thinking that the kitchen needs to be redone. And it's double the price of our current house. Apparently, that means half the cabinet space.
Chrissy has been telling me she feels discontent. I guess that's how I feel, too. Maybe some new curtains can cure that.
P.S. After seeing the house, we went to dinner and I got carded when I ordered a glass of wine. Carded! On my 30th birthday! WOOT. And then the waitress put a candle in the dessert we ordered and didn't charge us for it. She is my new favorite person.

Happy Birthday! I tell everyone that 30 is the new 20 - except that you start using retinol.
Whoo - hoo!
Gracias!
I think 30 is pretty fabulous. Old enough to actually know a few things, but young enough to still have be considered young.
