A very important phone call The post about the fan might SAY Monday, but I hadn't gone to bed yet. Techincally, to me, it was still Sunday. Our goddaughter, Abigal, is 3. She's sweet and really sensitive and freaking adorable. Last week she brought me some little pieces of artwork she made. Two -- one for me and one for David. They're on the fridge where she hung them. At her eye level. I think I'm going to frame them. They're the first ones she ever gave us, so they're pretty special. Saturday night I was at her house for dinner. Abigail got up at like 7 the next morning, burst into her parents' bedroom saying, "I forgot to ask Aunt Michelle her favorite color!" and then she went downstairs to look for me. AWW! Chrissy said she told her I wasn't there but she could call me later to say hi. So last night at about 7, I got the call. Me: Hello? Abigail: Hi Aunt Michelle! Mrf meffle gloffen dob! Me (thank god for called ID): Hi sweetie! How are you? Abigail: Fine! Hi Aunt Michelle! It's me, Abigail! Me: I know! What's up, sweetie? Abigail: What's your favorite color? Me: Ahh. Well, I guess that would be pink. Abigail: I smurfle snurfle frop slee. The line goes dead. (Chrissy told me later that when Abigail realized the signal got lost, she looked at the phone and said "Aunt Michelle ran away!" She also thought I said my favorite color was cake. Mmm. Cake.) The phone rings again. Me: Hello? Abigail: Hi Aunt Michelle! Me: Hi Abigail! Abigail: What's your favorite color? Me: It's pink, honey. Abigail: Mommy, it's pink! Me: What's your favorite color? Abigail: Um, yellow and brown. (Only it sounds like lellow and brown) Me: Wow, that's nice! So how's your day going? Abigail: Fine! Griffin's following me around. Me: Well, little brothers do that a lot, don't they? Abigail: Yeah. So what are you up to? What am I UP TO? This kid KILLS me. She's 3. And despite her baby voice, she sounds like a grown up. I tell her I'm not up to much today and that I'm glad that she called to which she replies, "OK! Bye! I love you!" It's good to have godchildren.

Agreed. But also: Abby is cute.

You know what you could do? Write a separate post about Abby and Griffin, and then you could link to it whenever you talk about them instead of having to explain them. You could do little bio boxes. Aww!
